Kenneth Carney

Kenneth Lee Carney passed peacefully at home from this life to heaven on April 20, 2023 at the age of 82. He was born on April 2, 1941 to Joe and Juanita Carney in Oklahoma City. He met the love of his life, Susan Nowacki, in 1966 while attending Oklahoma City University School of Law and working to acquire his CPA certification. Their engagement was spent finishing college degrees and were finally married in 1968. Together they raised their three children while he practiced accounting for various firms. After several years of hard work he helped form the current firm, Smith, Carney & Co., P.C. and will be remembered for his deep passion for tax research and his genuine concern for the staff and clients of the firm. Ken was also a gifted photographer, using his camera to capture pastoral and current events for Christ the King Catholic Church. Through the years he gifted his framed photographs for local fundraisers. Ken is survived by his wife Susan of 55 years; daughter Lauren Compton (Jimmy); son Christopher Carney (Samantha); grandsons Conor Donnelly and Colin Donnelly; and sister Eileen Maguire. He is preceded in death by his son Bertrand and parents Joe and Juanita Carney. Ken's love and memories will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma 73120, with Fr. Rick Stansberry officiating.
