MEMORIAL FOR LINDA McGEE, October 11, 2018, El Paragua Restaurant, Espanola, New Mexico

Welcome: (Sandie and Cam)

Thank you for coming to the celebration of the life of our dear friend, Linda McGee.  This place, El Paragua, was one of Linda's favorite places, and many of us met her here often for food or drinks.  She would be so pleased that all of you have joined us here today.

We have asked Angela Adams to read a short summary of Linda's life.

Angela:   Linda Ann McGee, long term resident of Espanola passed from the life on June 12, 2018.  Linda's parents were Harold McGee and Loretta McGee of Oklahoma.  Linda was born in Evanston, Illinois, spent her childhood in Olahoma and came to New Mexico after graduating from Oklahoma State University.  Linda later earned a Masters Degree in Social Work, and worked for the New Mexico CYFD for 25 years, primarliy in the area of adoptions.  She retired in the early 2000's.  Linda will be remembered by the many children and families that she helped.. After retiring Linda voluntered at the Espanola Wildlife Center for many years.  Sandie and Cam worked with Linda at CYFD and maintained their close friendship with Linda until her death. Linda left handwritten instructions indicating where her ashes should be spread and instructed that her friends be remembered.

Sandie:   We have set up a Rod Stewart shrine table.  There are prayer papers that we plan to burn when we spread her ashes later this Fall.  On your way out, feel free to stop by and write a note with you own message, fold it up and put it in the box.

Cam:  There are pictures of Linda and her friends on two boards.  There are also pictures of Linda at the Wildlife Center.  There are even pictures of Linda and her Golden Eagle, Moreno, taken there.

Sandie:  There are some special gifts for each of you from Linda.
