Graduated from Westminster College, Fulton, MO in 1963. Graduated from OU Medical School in 1967. Internship and residency in internal medicine. Served as an army physician in Columbia, SC from 1970-1971. Completed a two year cardiology fellowship in 1973. Moved to Norman, OK in 1973 and began a 32 year career as an emergency room physician. Most of that time as director. Retired in 2004.
Married Curtice Van Buskirk in 1964 and had two girls. Allison McCloy Lafferty, an asst. DA in Watonga, OK. and Laura McCloy Young, a radiologist in Oklahoma City. 5 grandchildren, Brennan and Jack Lafferty, Austin, Lainey and Sarah Young.
Main hobbies are breeding horse business and collecting art. Most travel involves horse shows or art shows. Favorite places to travel are Shelbyville, TN for Tennessee Walking horse shows, Scottsdale and Tucson, AZ Dallas, LA and Jackson, WY for art shows.
